Upstream: a driver for growth
Thanks to the implementation of five of the company's key projects contemplated in the 2012-2016 Strategic Plan and increased activity in Trinidad and Tobago, production continues to improve, increasing by 11.4% compared to the first quarter last year.
Efficiency in refining
The improvement in refining margins and higher distillation volume, achieved by the expansion projects at Cartagena and Bilbao, more than made up for the fall in sales and sales margins of service stations in Spain, allowing the Downstream unit's operating income to increase by more than 113%.
International trust
With liquidity of almost 9 billion euros, 2.4 times short-term debt maturities and a 13% reduction of net debts compared to the 2012 year-end results, Repsol guarantees financial strength, increasing the trust of international investors.
Committing to the future
The launch of Repsol's scholarship programme for the Monlau Competition School reaffirms the company's commitment to training and the creation of employment among the young people who will be the driving force for the new generation of professional motorsports.

Results 2013
Repsol posts net income of 631 million euros
Net income rose 1.6% during the first quarter of 2013. This increase is particularly significant bearing in mind that it is compared with the first quarter of 2012, the last in which Repsol included earnings from YPF.
